Easter is so much more than just hunting for Easter Eggs, although that is the most fun for the little ones. Part of that is decorating for the holiday (have you ever broken that word down). Eggs represent the birth of Christ, they are decorated and hidden because finding God isn't always the easiest thing to do.

Inventory fun!

Doing inventory isn't my favorite thing to do. Actually, I pretty much hate it. I combine inventory with pricing and cleaning each object so that I can get more done at the same time. In the process of doing this I found a box full of Magic the Gathering cards, along with baseball, basketball and football cards. The artwork on these cards is so good, I just had to share some of them here.

There is a big demand for these cards, the game is very popular. These gamers play all over the world, holding huge tournaments with lots of prize money involved. I am starting to put them on the site today and can hardly wait to start hearing from players who are interested.

Easter Display

I love all the different holidays and children at a Easter Egg hunt is one of my favorites. The window was so much fun to do. It still needs a couple of finishing touches, I have to go upstairs and get some fabric to cover the boxes. However, all of the products have been placed and they will be moved around often to keep people seeing more.

Bunnies, Bunnies everywhere! Plush toys out the whoazoo! Would love to sell them all. They have been bundled and priced to sell.

Opening for the Season!

Being the first of April and winter is basically over, we open for the season today! Come on by and see us if you are in the area. There is so much to do here, crafts, shopping, toys to play with for the precious children. A baby bed and full size bed for the napping ones. Since I am still switching to a little earlier hours than I am used to we are opening today at 10:30am, will close for lunch at noon and reopen at 1:00pm until 6:00pm.

Spring is Almost Here!

Wow! Time sure does fly when you're busy. Shop opens back up on the 1st of April, provided there isn't a foot of snow on the ground. I so totally stroke out when the electric bill is $600 and up. We have a new featured product this month. It is the Rustic Garden Swing for a whooping $120.95 plus shipping! But Hurry, it only lasts through the end of the month and when they run out, it won't be available again until who knows when. This swing is a stylish addition to your backyard.

Wow! My birthday! What can I say, I'm starting
to feel like I'm over 20 and realized the other day that my oldest is going
to be 40 his next birthday. Oh how time flies. We've been at the Groovin' Granny
going on 3 years now, and it is going through another transition. We've taken
the store online year round and are turning it into my Art Studio and a craft
club.

December is a time of transition as well,
the old catalog is going out and the new one is coming in. Our Product of the
month is the Telescope on a tripod, regular price of $129.95 is priced at $69.95
through the end of the month.

I'm so excited!!!
A Wonderful couple over in Springfield sold me (free, cost zippy) ceramic molds. When I was a lot younger than I am now, I did ceramics and loved it. I miss painting and want to get back to it. Everybody here says there isn't anything to do around her, so I'm going to give us all something to do. This is going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait for the clay to get here. Front Window Signage Done

I've been needing to do this since we got here and
what with one thing and another, now is the first chance I have gotten. Since I am painting anyway, I decided to do the windows, and the street sign.
The display windows are almost done, and things are coming downstairs to be priced and displayed. Next week, the store reopens for the season. Big changes are happening around this place and spring has sprung and there is beauty in the air!

I can't believe it is almost April already. I have been remiss with the blog. I was down very ill for a while and am now getting the store up and going again. Today I am painting the window sills and some of the fixtures, bringing stock downstairs and setting up new display windows. While we were closed for Feb. (way to cold and I had pneumonia) new display windows got built and the wall got moved (again). I'll take some before and after pic's of the windows.

Things! They Are Changin'

The shop has changed so much since we got here, it is just amazing! I think everything has been moved at least a half dozen times and with some of it, that is really saying something!

It looks more like it did in 1904 when the store was first opened. I sure would like to know what happened to the chandeliers!

There is still a lot of work to do, before it is the way we want it, it just takes time. The Grand Opening is Saturday, we haven't had one up til now and the Christmas Parade is Saturday, so I decided to do it then.

We have an ebay store now. Things are moving right along. The store is coming together, looking more and more like a store everyday. Can't believe we are already decorating for Christmas.

Okay, I admit ignorance about something! Would somebody please tell me what it is and don't say it is a grill, I know that much. Just what kind of Grill is it? I have hubcaps, a steering wheel, and other parts to cars as well. There is even a tool box for a full size truck bed.

Well, any sleep is over for the next couple of days. I'll sleep Thursday night, you can bet your sweet bippy! The store is changing hourly now, the first and the last booth are being torn out and the last booth is being remodeled. The first booth is for a vendor, don't know which one yet.

Take Down That Wall!

Lars moved a wall today and took down all those dark, ugly doors! They were used to seperate the booths on one side of the two aisles. It really made the store look so much bigger. By the way, those 2 windows at the top of the photos is where I live.

Reconstruction Begins

We began the process downstairs today of redesigning the store, tearing out some of the booths (I don't like the doors, they look cheap and dark) to brighten the place up and enhance the view of the products. Lars removed several of the doors and I moved product off of shelves. We are back to having blocked aisles, but when everything goes back into the new booths it will all be cleaned and organized.

Moving Right Along

We open in a week and there is still a lot to be done, but it sure has come a long way. Everything looks disorganized right now, although it is coming together, getting sorted and put in the proper booths. Everything will look different tomorrow. More photos then.

Things Are Moving Right Along

What we thought would take a year is only going to take 2 months. Amazing! If you don't see the building for a couple of days, the change may or may not be apparent. It gets clear and blocked two or three times in a day sometimes.

What we call the 3rd floor (really the top floor), is down to my knees in most places now. The majority of the boxes are going out the window (literally)!

We signed on the building on the 27th and finished moving our stuff in on the 28th. Now the big clean up begins. Figure it will take a year to get it all organized and inventoried.

Going to buy a Flea Market! What a neat old building it is. Every time I go over there, I see a lot of possibilies. The structure is very sound, there are no cracks or soft spots in the floors. The place is 2 story, but could be three, the ceilings are 13 feet high. The place is impressive to look at and I can hardly wait to get to work cleaning up the mess.
